[vc_row][vc_column width=”1/1″][vc_accordion][vc_accordion_tab title=”You are asking teachers to propose a Course. How will you ensure quality?”][vc_column_text]
WSU: Yes, we are asking teachers to propose a course themselves and prima facie, there is an element of randomness. However, the very idea of choosing a teacher is for his/her authenticity in terms of being a practitioner in the subject matter of teaching. In the most fundamental level, a teacher who cannot claim to have been a practitioner of what he/she teaches is a false teacher. We do have a review process of the proposals to make sure that the students get best and learn from a practitioner for maximum impact, short and long term. The Sanskrit equivalent of teacheris acharya – literally meaning one who practices what he preaches.
[/vc_column_text][/vc_accordion_tab][vc_accordion_tab title=”How will you make me interested to be a teacher?”][vc_column_text]
WSU: At the fundamental level, we cannot or no process can. It needs some inner spark and rest can be built by association, exposure and training. Also – this is not a full time job as in a school, college or university.

[/vc_column_text][/vc_accordion_tab][vc_accordion_tab title=”What happens if my internet connection fails / malfunctions during webinar?”][vc_column_text]
WSU: We will re-schedule and if we needed, will patch you through a phone line and run the presentation. In any case, a student will always get a recorded video with the option of contacting the teacher. Just like in a normal school, a teacher can fall sick and miss a class, we can also reschedule.
[/vc_column_text][/vc_accordion_tab][vc_accordion_tab title=”How will you get students for my course?”][vc_column_text]
WSU: We will be using three different strategies to get students. Once a course is proposed and announced after a consultative review, we will use traditional chanels – mostly online to market. Then we will use our own network of influence and then we will target keyword matched content space to target potential students. You as a teacher can also market in your network with a link to attend the course.
[/vc_column_text][/vc_accordion_tab][vc_accordion_tab title=”I am little uncomfortable about the webinar. I understand teaching means a classroom, a teacher and students in the desk may be 5-6 feet away. I am little uneasy.”][vc_column_text]
WSU: Imagine you have opened a power point presentation and explaining the same to a colleague a feet away from you. You scroll, speak, underline, pause and explain and maybe there is a question and answer session. Same as in webinar. The only differnece is that you will not see (normally) any student but in a panel you will know who they are and in a text chat box you can chat with anyone or all of them. You open the presentation (this is now seen by all in their screen), you speak, explain, they listen and then you can talk with them in the question and answer session.
You only need a reasonably upto date computer system, a mic/headphone and a decent broadband connection, preferably landline-based. Also an hour time in a noise free enviornment. Nothing else in terms of infrastructure. During webinar, before 15-20 mts going live, our team will check your audio and screen (your video will not be shown – so no dress code!). There is no fee, subscription or any payment whatsoever for registering as a teacher.
[/vc_column_text][/vc_accordion_tab][vc_accordion_tab title=”How will I get paid?”][vc_column_text]
WSU: You will be paid after the end of each month based on the revenue earned and revenue share is 50/50 between WSU and teacher. Payment modes are paypal / bank transfer / moneybookers. Consider your webinar is on 18th of November. Say you have proposed a per attendee fee of $ 20 and there are 10 attendees. So total revenue is $ 200. You will get $ 100 by
30th of November. We will send a statement and you will raise an Invoice.
Now each month, we will count how many videos are sold. So if in November, we see we have sold
5 videos of the webinar (@$10 X 5 = $ 50. You will get $ 5 as royalty for this. This will continue lifetime. You will be sent a statement and you will raise an Invoice.
[/vc_column_text][/vc_accordion_tab][vc_accordion_tab title=”How will you evaluate my proposed course?”][vc_column_text]
WSU: Normally, we understand that you have all the domain competencies and knowledge to teach as you are the proposer. However, we will go through your presentation and may ask some relevant questions. Also, if you wish, we can set a webinar trial so that you get familiarized with this mode of delivery. We might also ask you to manage the content so that the essentials can be compressed into one hour.
[/vc_column_text][/vc_accordion_tab][vc_accordion_tab title=”My proposed course cannot be done in an hour. It is more involved and needs more time. What shall I do?”][vc_column_text]
WSU: A course can consist of multiple one hour classes. So you can break your course in a series consisting of classes of each approximately one hour duration. Recently, we did a series called Fresh Freelancer Series in six parts, one hour each. Submit multiple proposals with multiple date / time for each course.
[/vc_column_text][/vc_accordion_tab][vc_accordion_tab title=”Can I use the Powerpoint Presentation I made for the University elsewhere?”][vc_column_text]
WSU: Absolutely. We need a line from you telling that you are using the Powerpoint Presentation and where.
[/vc_column_text][/vc_accordion_tab][vc_accordion_tab title=”Suppose a student contacts me to study one to one? Can I do it?”][vc_column_text]
WSU: Absolutely. You can even use our platform and set your fee. Either way, we have no problem.
[/vc_column_text][/vc_accordion_tab][vc_accordion_tab title=”What if there is no student for my course?”][vc_column_text]
WSU: There are three options. We can reschedule and try to market better and get students. You can cancel it altogether. Or you can record the webinar and then we can sell this recording as a video. It is completely upto you.
[/vc_column_text][/vc_accordion_tab][vc_accordion_tab title=”I am a student but I need something else than the offered courses. What shall I do?”][vc_column_text]
WSU: It is quite natural. Please tell us at support@wordsmithuniversity.com
[/vc_column_text][/vc_accordion_tab][vc_accordion_tab title=”I registered and paid but could not attend the webinar. What now?”][vc_column_text]
WSU: No need to worry. You will have access to the recorded video for any number of views. Once registered and paid and if the course is not cancelled, we cannot refund the money. In case of a cancelled course, your entire money will be refunded inclusive of paypal / moneybookers commission / charges.
[/vc_column_text][/vc_accordion_tab][vc_accordion_tab title=”I need deeper and more detailed training. What can you do for me?”][vc_column_text]
WSU: Most of the teachers will provide a Further Study / Resource List in their material for you to dig deeper. Alternatively, you can interact with the teacher directly. Or you can tell us.
[/vc_column_text][/vc_accordion_tab][vc_accordion_tab title=”Do you provide certification?”][vc_column_text]
WSU: Yes. We can issue a certificate telling that you have attended the Course and that can be verified from us by any 3rd party, if needed.
[/vc_column_text][/vc_accordion_tab][vc_accordion_tab title=” I did a course at WSU sometime. I want to teach something now. Can I do it?”][vc_column_text]
WSU: Absolutely. Every teacher has been a student sometime and every student is a teacher of
something and / or will become a teacher of something for which he is a student now. Our core
objective is to provide a simple, intimate, non-cheating and transparent platform for teachers and students to come together. Rest is Providence and History combined.
[/vc_column_text][/vc_accordion_tab][vc_accordion_tab title=”I am not clear about all webinar, online teaching etc. Please clarify.”][vc_column_text]
WSU: Imagine you want to learn something. As a thought experiment – you can google, use social network and try to get material, people and relevant contacts. However, this needs time and the process may not be optimal for you. More important, you may be lost in the crowd of data and material and then you might have left with huge material, links and contacts but now you need
more time to filter things to get what you want. A kind of information overload.
Our proposition is to integrate this whole process through the channel of a sympathetic, competent and informed practitioner – a teacher. At $ 15 – $ 20 per class and spending an hour with this practitioner over webinar (/video), you can manage your learning in a capsular form. You save time and you get in essence what a practitioner has acquired over a long period of time. Your doubts / queries are resloved directly.
And in this process you are building a direct relationship with a person who can potentially enrich you and your ventures further.
